Did you know the suave core movements of belly dance are the foxy grandmamas of the bump-n-grind of burlesque?  This beginner friendly class builds your strength and range of motion in a light-hearted environment with a sassy mix of music.  You’ll slink, swivel and shimmy to Turkish techno, 50’s lounge jazz and rock-n-roll as you refine your moves, build coordination, and enhance your sense of rhythm, expression and fluidity. 
 
Ameena (belly dance)/Blitzen Von Schtupp (burlesque) is a prolific teacher, performer, and producer in the belly dance and burlesque worlds.  She has appeared in The Great Boston Burlesque Expo’s Main Event, four editions of Jingle Belles, Red Light Burlesque in New Haven, TempleCon, and too many fundraisers to count.  Ameena/Blitzen has studied with diverse burlesque and belly dance teachers including Norhan Sharif, Michelle L’Amour, and Perishable’s own Lady Miss Iris and Ms. B to name but a few.

Classes held at Perishable Theatre: 95 Empire Street in Providence.
